Definitions
The electronic atlas of glaciers of Georgia presents four sets of images by glacial basins:
1.  Topographic maps of the 1960s, which are actually visualizations of glaciers recorded in the catalog;
2.  Satellite images of glaciers from 2010 (or the nearest date), conditionally marked with SRS 1;
3.  Satellite images of glaciers from 2015 (or the nearest date), conditionally marked with SRS 2;
4.  Satellite images of glaciers from 2020 (or the nearest date), conditionally marked with SRS 3.
The following unified designations are used on the topographic maps and satellite images of glaciers presented in the Electronic Atlas of Glaciers of Georgia:
· The specified contour of the glacier − blue line.
· Rocky areas (free of snow and ice) − green line;
· Firn line − light purple line;
· An additional line drawn to calculate the total length of the glacier − brown line;
· The state border with the Russian Federation − yellow line.

     For the sake of compactness on topographic maps and satellite images of glaciers, a total of three colored pins are used to mark glaciers:
a green pin marks glaciers with an area of 0.1 km2 or more;
a yellow pin marks glaciers or snowfields with an area of less than 0.1 km2;
a red pin marks extinct glaciers.
The pins also indicate the glacier's catalog number.
